Temperature

From Koipedia

Temperature has a huge effect on the pond and it's inhabitants.

Koi like all fish are cold blooded and as such their metabolism changes with water temperature. Their energy level is lower in colder temperature's and higher in higher temperatures. Also their food needs drop as the temperature gets lower. It is even dangerous to their health to feed when it is too cold as the food may not digest properly and go rancid inside their digestive system causing health risks.

Feeding should be reduced to about once per day when night temperatures are below: °

Feeding should be discontinued when temp is below: °

Feeding can be resumed when temp is about: °

In addition, it is best to feed low protein, high carbohydrate food during transition period.

As temperature increases, water has a reduced capacity to hold oxygen meaning proper aeration is even more important.
